Hooligans go to Dubai (Videos)

I did these videos a while back when Maelstrom's Hooligans were 34. They are a bit stronger again now at 36 and I have a set as well (currently 30 at the time of this post) for your borrowing pleasure.

Here are some videos showing how you can use borrowed hooligans only to get points in Dubai.

As with all my videos, they are pretty amateurish and hacky, but you get what you pay for ;-)!

As you'll see in the vidoes, you really need to have flare (preferably with at least Strobe Light research completed so you have a decent dodge) and drone geyser unlocked (so you can get those pesky units behind walls).

I find soloing with Hooligans pretty fun and easy to do on fast-forward. I'd recommend that if you can, you use Hooligans in their mid-thirties or higher and be level 35 yourself.

Dubai Three Review (Third completion)

Our third successful attempt at Dubai Tier 3 started on Saturday 13th February at 7am UTC and took 16 and a quarter hours to complete.

Breizh won again, taking his count to 2/3 and mine, sadly, to 1/3. You are the champ, Breizh! Best out of 5?

Well done, Breizh! Proves I shouldn't sleep when we are raiding Dubai ;-)

However, the real winner of Dubai was perhaps Jifferlaar, who not only got third place, with an impressive 120K + of trophies, but also went from being level 26 at the start of the raid (i.e., not actually able to play) to getting to level 44 and scoring three epic packs! All with this guy:
Octavia's Doomsday. Isn't he dreamy??
And providing ample evidence that NEKO's method is the way to go, if you don't have heaps of high powered teams!

And what did we get?
Breizh got the legendary pack and the guild legendary pack for beating me fair and square.

He took screenshots of one of the openings:
Who's that pokemon ...er World Zombination unit?
It's Shade!

He also got Maelstrom, but was so unimpressed he forgot to take a screenshot.
Here she is anyway:
Never mind, Breizh. You can't always be lucky!
Here are my three epic packs.
The first one I got excited when I saw this:
An orange glow!
I was so excited I immediately forgot to take a picture of who it was.

It was this guy:

My third patient zero - now helping the first one on his way to level 30!
Here are my next two packs:

All and all it was a pretty good raid, with lots of good chatter at the end.

The NEKO method: Scoring higher on raids with a borrowed explosive

So I've told you that the key to success in World Zombination is multiple teams. While this is true, it may be the case that you don't have multiple teams and there is a raid on NOW and you want to do well on it.

Neko has kindly agreed to share her method for success on this type of raid. She only has one active team and uses this method to place highly on raids, getting packs and earning guild xp.

Her secret?

Borrowing one of these guys:

and using them with drone geyser or flare to take out the buildings - and as many enemy units as she can on Expert level. (You could also use a harbinger, but the heavy explosives (killaton and doomsday) do more building damage and are more likely to take out the building (at level 30 Killaton's building damage is 1389 and harbinger's is 1060).

The main advantage of this method is that you can play as long as you want as you are just using a borrowed unit. (No more waiting for units to come off cooldown!)

You also may get more trophies doing this on Expert than you would if you completed the level on full points at Normal difficulty.

The main disadvantage is that you won't earn as much DNA as you might completing the level perfectly on Normal difficulty. You will also go through more brains. (But there are tricks to brainfarming too, so you can stockpile some brains up!).

So the steps of the NEKO method (TM, patent-pending):
1) Unlock Drone Geyser (if you have researched it so it has a shorter cooldown, this will be even better)
2) Request Doomsday or Killaton
3) Only use the borrowed unit to fight
4) Use him straight away to take out enemies or a building (if you can)
5) Fast forward while he recharges
6) Repeat until drone geyser becomes available. If you have flare unlocked and researched up to at least Strobe light, this will help significantly
7) Use drone geyser by the hardest to reach building and then deploy Killaton/Doomsday
8) Keep on fast forwarding and using doomsday/killaton as much as you can to take out buildings and enemies until the time runs out

Here is an example of the points you can get using this method.

My team to take on Dubai Expert Difficulty:
I was going to use common units but had just deleted them all

This layout was particularly good as it has an easily accessible building. Spawn some drones who will go to the building and then Killaton when they get close

The results:

I just used the borrowed Killaton and didn't use flare. (OK I did once, to direct drones to a group of snipers) so you could potentially get more points if you used flare. Some of it will be luck though in terms of the numbers of easy to kill enemy units.

Anyway, have fun using trying this method out!
